Brief: Making (Therapy) transition periods for Children
(Specifically with ADHD) smooth and fun.
About the project:
It was during this project that I realized I have been quite ungrateful and selfish almost all my life, and that reading about disorders versus meeting children with them are two completely different things. I understood that this wasn't the correct field for me due to the immense amount of emotional toll it took on me. Working closely with Children and families who live a very different reality makes one aware of the privilege they have. We, as a team, conducted research on differently abled children for this project, and chose to work with children who were diagnosed with ADHD, along with other disorders. We discovered that most children faced problems when moving on to one therapy to another and would often cry in the hallways. So, to add a slight touch of familiarity to the hallways, we created modular transitioning tools/toys that the children could engage in while moving from one room to the other.
